POETRY GALORE IN OUR CLASS THIS WEEK!
We are poets and we didn't know it!! It's the end of the year and we've nothing to fear. First grade has been fun but now it's time to run!
We started the week by touring the fabulous exhibit at the Art Institute. We were able to step inside the book, "The Incredible Painting of Felix Clousseau". It was so muc fun to step into the pages of the book and feel as though we were part of the story!
Where'd the cute duck go that was in this picture?
Oh, here he is... and he dropped a feather!
Integrated Language this week...
Lots of review fun!
Skill review on the ipads, reading fluency practice with the telephones, a little geometry review with geoboards, phonics review with Starfall.com, poetry readings with poems on the easel, May baskets full of beautiful flowers, Brainquest, WHO GNU?, CVC words, Tell A Story games and letter writing practice with a tearful goodbye letter to Eva.
Whew what a week!!!

| TNT this week we made BEAUTIFUL summer sunflowers! |
This week we learned about several different types of poetry. We learned how to make shape, cinquain, and haiku poems. We also wrote a "Who Am I?" poem. Next week we will make a few more and then put them all together in special poetry books to keep.
