Computer Lab
Students did an online Hanukkah word search to reinforce the vocabulary they learned from this week (latke, gimel, nun, coin, etc.) We also did a holiday lights math game to practice our math facts. This game is AWESOME and the kids LOVED it! They earned lights as they got more problems correct and got to decorate a house with the lights. Then the lights turned on and Christmas music started playing. Both games are found on starfall.com in the 1st grade holiday section.
Hands on Science
Students performed an experiment using candy canes. They put candy canes in warm water to observe what would happen. The red coloring comes off of the candy cane and then the candy cane begins to shrink/dissolve! Check it out!
Spelling
There will be NO spelling words or test for next week. Enjoy the break from spelling and we will pick it back up again after Christmas break in January. We are so proud of the great work your children have done on all of their spelling words so far!!
