AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL...

Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into the paper dolls! Also, thank you for supporting your child as they memorize their speeches for our big program! We are so excited and we are hard at work.

Both classes came together as we practiced our program for the very first time with our piano player Lamar Sims. It is going to be great.......! It is amazing how quickly they have learned their parts.

We pulled children to do a running records assessment.  We will be doing these for the next couple of weeks so we can show you how far your children have come in their reading this year!

In math we have continued with the concept of money. We are taking it a step further and doing Hard U.S.A theme pages:  $Money what is: 5 Jeffersons, 3 Lincolns & 1 Jefferson coin equal?, adding numbers like 2450+1348=???, adding 2+4+5+8+3+8=??? _____=70 tens  We have also introduced the children to time. We are working on just the hour and half hour at this point.  We are having a blast in math!

Our TIME song!

In social studies the students learned all about the Liberty Bell and Groundhog Day. They have been presenting their Famous Americans. They have to stand in front of the class and present their research report. Their paper doll is presented as well. The audience must actively listen and are allowed to give a compliment or ask a question at the end of the presentation. We cannot believe how far your children have come.
