Long, long, ago......in Miss Fate & Mrs. Wyllie's first grade
classroom lived 20 children. They were so busy working they didn't even
realize how much they were really learning......

During math this week we have been reviewing fractions, playing strategy games, base ten blocks, & we are reviewing place value. We even learned about expanded form and standard form.

In social studies we have started to present our fairy tale banners to our peers and
the plans for our first grade lemonade and cookie stand are on
the way. We also have been working really hard in our theme notebooks for this theme.

TNT: (Try New Things) We finished up presenting our book banners & then we started an Earth Day Project. We are learning about how to help our earth. We got a head start on our Earth Circles during TNT.

Tuesday, April 22nd - Technology and Your Child for parents with students in ECC-3rd grade at 6:30pm. Drs. Kevin and Natasha Burgert will address the challenges of parenting in the online space. They will describe sites commonly used by our children, discuss health consequences that arise from unrestricted or unmonitored internet use and finally, suggest practical ways to guide and monitor your child's online life. (There will be another session for parents with students in 4th-8th grade on Tuesday, May 6th at 6:30pm.)
Wednesday, April 30th: your child can dress up as their favorite fairy tale character to help us conclude our theme. This is completely optional.
-Friday, May 2nd is our 1st Grade Lemonade Stand @ The Gould Family's house more info. to come.
There will be no lunch
service on Friday May 2nd, due to a Pillar's lunch the students are to bring their lunch. This
also includes teachers
and staff. Students
will eat in classrooms on this day.
-Friday, May 9th is our book swap more info. to come soon.
-Thursday, May
22nd is Our Last Day of School & we have a field trip to the Winnwood
Skating Center to go roller skating with 1st & 2nd grade more info.
