A FABULOUS END TO FIRST GRADE!

Take a look at some amazing pictures from our week below:

MONDAY!

Getting our MEMORY BOOKS all put together!

This is a sample of my best handwriting.....then and now!
Mrs. Waller searches for the hidden TIME CAPSULES!
FOUND!

At the beginning of the year the students filled out a TIME CAPSULE listing many of their favorites, reasons they were excited for first grade, and three goals they had for themselves! We rolled up the time capsules and hid them in the room.  Last week the students fill out their END OF THE YEAR REFLECTION...did their list of favorites change? What is their favorite memory? What three things will they miss the most about first grade? Did they accomplish their goals? On Monday we searched and found the TIME CAPSULES....each child read theirs and compared it to their END OF YEAR REFLECTION! SO FUN!

YEARBOOK SIGNING!

CHARLOTTE'S BIRTHDAY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHARLOTTE! WE LOVED CELEBRATING WITH YOU!
FACULTY V. 8TH GRADE SOFTBALL GAME!

Your children were great spectators!

Mrs. Waller actually made it on base and made a few plays in the field...not bad for not playing since last year!
WEDNESDAY!
SUMMER BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION...

The summer birthday clan!

Carter's dad is in there somewhere!

COMMUNITY JUGGLE...our last TNT!
We separated into two groups, then each person had one friend they threw the ball to and one friend they received the ball from....this pattern was the same every time. We practiced with one ball, then two...we made it to five balls being tossed around our circle at one time. This is a community building activity that Ms. Lorfing and Mrs. Waller have done at a teacher conference with adults...wow, these kids are great!

THURSDAY!

Mrs. Waller's favorite read that she leaves for the last day! If you have never read this book, it comes highly recommended!
ROLLER SKATING

We are worn out!

Maybe not!

SHAVING CREAM FUN

IT'S ALL GOOD!
Enjoy your summer!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy the poem below...it says it all...thank you for standing behind us. We could not do it without YOU!

UNITY

I dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there,
The clay they used was a young child’s mind
And they fashioned it with care.
One was a teacher:
The tools she used were books and music and art;
One was a parent:
With a guiding hand and gentle loving heart.
And when at last their work was done,
They were proud of what they had wrought.
For the things they had worked into the child
Could never be sold or bought!
And each agreed she would have failed
If she had worked alone.
For behind the parent stood the school,
And behind the teacher stood the home!
