HOORAY FOR THE U.S.A.!
We cannot thank you enough for the hard work you have done over the past month to help us prepare for this amazing production! This week's blog is full of pictures of our famous Americans! Of course, we have still been hard at work learning in first grade. It is amazing to see exactly how much they have grown since the start of the year. We could not do it without all of you. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Centers: Your kids can tell you, "when two vowels go walking, the first one does the talking!" This week we focused on ai, oa, ee, and ea words in a variety of centers. We also started some cute Valentine's activities- take a look at the pictures below:
Math: We finished up our unit on time this week. Your children grasped this difficult concept very quickly! You can reinforce this concept at home by asking your child to tell you the time at various points during the day. They are welcome to wear analogue watches to school as well! Next week we will be starting fractions!
Social Studies: The students continued presenting their research reports and Famous American dolls. We also learned about Groundhog's day and the Lincoln Memorial.
