Autumnish Feeling!!!

We've got an autumnish feeling!

It has been a great week here in Miss Fate and Mrs. Waller's class. A little shorter than normal, but we still managed to fit a lot in!

In Science on Monday, in preparation for our field trip, we learned about a pumpkin and how it grows. We read a nonfiction story and learned all about pumpkins. The children then colored and cut out pictures and glued them in the correct sequence, starting with a seed and ending with a big, orange pumpkin.

Miss Fate brought out the balancing scales on Monday in Math and the children weighed their pumpkins in small groups. They made predictions about how many counting bears it would take to make their pumpkin equal the weight of their partner's pumpkin. Thank you for sending pumpkins in to school with your kids. We have enjoyed using them in our classroom work!

PUMPKIN PATCH :)

We had a blast at Carolyn's Country Cousins Pumpkin Patch on Tuesday. We got to see pigs, goats, donkeys, peacocks, chickens and turkeys, to just name a few. We learned all about different types of pumpkins and got to take a train ride. We also went on a hayride and got to pick out our perfect pumpkin. It was a very windy day, but the sun was shining and the sky was blue. Due to the wind, lunch proved to be somewhat challenging but with the help of our Moms we got all the messes cleaned up! Thank you to all of our Moms who were able to come help with this field trip, we appreciated all of your work!
We finished our short week with the St. Paul's Halloween Ball. What a blast!. We enjoyed spending time with each other in our fun and funky Halloween Costumes. What a great job you did with the Halloween costumes. Thank you to our parent volunteers for managing the Halloween party. We played.........mummy wrap, guess what is in the box?, decorated our own pumpkins, heard a Halloween story & enjoyed some RIP cupcakes!!

We love this time with your children and your help is so important and helps greatly.

Lando!!!

Although we ended our short week on a high note, we are sad to see Landon go. We will miss you Landon, you are a bright spot in our classroom. Your new school is so lucky that they are getting you as a student and your new friends will be soooooo lucky as well! Keep in touch and send us pictures of the magnificent ocean! We love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, we continue to learn about bears. The children are having a great time with this theme. We look forward to continuing this theme in great detail when the kids return next week. See you at conferences either Thursday or Friday!!!
