The Bear Planet Play was wonderful!! We are so proud of the first graders! Thanks for all of your support.
The Bear Theme notebook is coming home today. Please review it with your children and praise them for all of their hard work!!!! They deserve it!
Our Bear theme has come to an End...The next theme after Thanksgiving Break will be the Festivals of Light!!! This includes studying Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and Christmas!
Centers this week...The children have been writing stories with Mrs. Waller about what is important to them. We will make this into a class book for you all to read.
With Miss Fate this week we made Cornucopia's to celebrate Thanksgiving coming up next week. The children can use them as place mats for Thanksgiving dinner!!!
FOOD DRIVE
The food drive for the St. Paul's pantry has been a huge success this year. Fate/Waller's class won first place again this year and had the most points out of the entire school!!!!! This is incredible!!! We had 4, 669 points more than any other class including the 8th graders!! Thanks so much for all your contributions and donations. Most importantly, the St. Paul's pantry is so thankful for all of your support. The children will get a chance to tour the pantry on Monday to see where all the items and food they brought are stored. This will be a great eye opening experience for them to see and ask questions that they might have about the food pantry.
Hands on Science-- The children created a cloud inside of a water bottle. It was created with warm water and an ice cube on top of the water bottle. The water was warm and the ice cube was cold so this created a water vapor cloud. They discussed the changes of seasons for the upcoming winter.
Math
Miss Fate introduced Cuisenaire Rods. We learned how each rod represents a value and has a symbolic meaning. We learned how to make a staircase and trains. We even used the rods for addition problems. Mrs. Waller played a fun Cuisenaire rod game with us called Rod Race.
Computer Lab Today---
The children played Holiday Thanksgiving Games on the website:
