Spelling test is Wednesday because of the short week!!!!!
The Halloween Ball is October 31st---You are welcome to come to the MPR that morning, just know it will be very crowded. There is no seating.
SNACKS: Please send 5 snacks at the beginning of the week if it helps. They can keep them in their cubby. There are alot of kiddos forgetting their snack.
While we have our bears in the room we have taken them out to recess, and compared their attributes. We had the black bears in a pile, the brown bears, the white bears and the multi- colored bears---then counted them. We used our knowledge of greater than and less than to show which bear pile had more. We also looked at attirbutes like which bear had a black nose, which bears had a tail etc.. There are so many things to do with our friends, the bears.

In Integrated Language we have been busy with our Hanuted Halloween stories. We can't wait to show you at conferences. We worked with the teachers brainstorming a main idea dn then came up with supporting details. From the rought draft we wrote our stories. Get ready to be scared!!! Practicing finding verbs in sentences is great practice for us. We do this in our small groups alot. Adjectives challenge us a little bit more than verbs. Have your child practice finding adjectives in the stroies they read at night to you. Mrs. L was a trooper one day and left our room with purple and gold sparkles all over her face. The wtiches she helped us with are hopefully on the table at home.
In Hands on Science we learned about 4 constellations. They were the Big Dipper, Leo the Lion, Cygnus Swan and Canis Major, the great dog. We made small images of them and used our cereal boxes to look at them in the dark with flashlights.
Our first and seventh grades won the spirit award at the Buddy Run. We enjoyed pizza and fun activities with Mr. Kurt and Ms. Shurtleff on this gorgeous afternoon.

Have a great weekend. See you at conferences.
Mrs. Wiedeman and Ms. Lorfing
