Just a few of the wonderful pumpkins on display!
We continue to practice for BEAR PLANET. We have several actors on our hands....great singers too. In TNT on Wednesday we joined Mrs. Wiedeman and Ms. Lorfing's class to begin staging our great production. The children are excited and we can't wait for you to see it.
Born to be stars!
Working with our contraction slides....
Miss Fate has continued guided reading and she also guided the children in a bear craft. They have also had a variety of independent centers including: a spelling center, computers, polar bear puppets and a contraction memory game.
Concentrating on contraction memory!
In Math we have continued Bear Logic, which allows your children to use their problem solving abilities. They LOVE Bear Logic! We also reviewed our doubles and the concept of greater than/less than/equal to in Math on Tuesday. In one center, the students played Double Bubbles with a partner. In the other center they rolled dice to calculate "How Much" and practice >, <, = ; not one mistake was made, everyone placed the alligator mouth the right way! We couldn't believe it! Also, your children work so nicely with one another. This makes it really great when we do centers in Math.
We have also started working with our abacus in number corner!
On Tuesday two students from Notre Dame de Sion and SME came to speak to us about the importance of wearing a helmet when you ride anything with wheels. It was a great presentation and a good reminder for us all!
