This week in integrated language we finished our famous American reports, read about the Statue of Liberty, made the Statue of Liberty, put the states in ABC order, practiced our famous American speeches, read about George Washington, the White House, and our flag.  In computer lab we went on  http://bensguide.gpo.gov/  WHEW!!
What an all American kind of week!

Putting states in ABC order

Working on long vowel sounds

In math we continued working on money skills.  Once again, these first graders blew us away with their knowledge of coins!! We worked on coin identification, adding coins and showing amounts with coins.  We also played a game called, "I have...who has..."  This takes great concentration and excellent listening skills to play a whole round successfully.  This amazing class was able to complete a whole round by the 3rd try!!  Quite an acomplishment for first graders!

What a FUN birthday celebration!!  We paraded down Walnut with noise makers in hand accompained by Cheifs cheerleaders, KC Wolf, Slugger, and the doggie from Sporting KC.  A special 50th anniversary flag was raised and then we all enjoyed some yummy birthday cake at lunch!  A VERY special day!
