What a SNOWY week...

We've had quite the short week due to the snow days! We so appreciate your flexibility and understanding in rescheduling our HOORAY FOR THE USA program. The children have worked so hard and we are so excited to perform for you next week! Since it was such a short week, we did not do any center activities. We had a wonderful rehearsal for the program on Monday and spent a lot of time catching up in our theme notebooks.  We continued to focus on telling time in math. The children reviewed money  using the website www.practicalmoneyskills.com/games. They played games like "Cash Puzzler," "Ed's Bank," and "Peter Pig's Money Counter." In hands on science, we read a story called Tracks in the Snow. We discussed different types of animals that might leave tracks in the snow and went on a picture scavenger hunt to try and identify different animal tracks. The children had a great time and did a wonderful job inferring!

REMINDERS
*HOORAY FOR THE USA PROGRAM rescheduled for Thursday, February 13th @ 9:15 a.m. 
*Please try to have your child to school by 8:05 a.m. on 2/13 so we can take a class picture in their costumes
*Cultural Arts event on Wednesday 2/12 at 10:30 a.m. in the North MPR
*VALENTINE'S DAY party on Friday 2/14 from 2-3 p.m.
*NO SCHOOL ON 2/17- PRESIDENT'S DAY
*NO BOOK IN THE BAG AGAIN NEXT WEEK. We will resume the week of 2/18
