#4MoreDaysInFirst

THIS IS OUR LAST WEEK OF CENTERS....It is always a bittersweet time for us. We have had a wonderful year. Your children have been amazing and it has been so fun to watch them grow. Thank you for sharing them with us and thank you for your unwavering support. The "fabulousness" that goes on in first grade could not be accomplished without our parents.

READING DAY!!!  What an amazing day!  Pajamas, guest readers, stuffed animals, a fort, and books galore- we had a blast!  Take a look below at some of the fun:

Our balloon for the day was to have lunch in the classroom!  Ms. Gina even made us to-go lunches!

Also this week, we visited 2nd grade, had a going away party for our friends moving away from St. Paul's, watched the amazing 4th graders perform in the road rally (and our very own Gage even made a guest appearance!).  It has been a week full of fun and learning.  We cannot believe we only have #4MoreDaysInFirst!

REMINDERS:
  • No more spelling tests!!
  • We are sending home the summer reading log today.  Please fill it out throughout the summer and return it to your 2nd grade teacher!
  • Order your books now at www.summerskills.com for extra practice over the summer

Next week, there are activities almost everyday.  Take a look below for the important information.  If you have any questions, please let us know!

MONDAY:
F     FIELD DAY:
In addition to having students wear appropriate shoes, please have students dress in comfortable/appropriate clothing that could potentially get wet during the water relay station. And of course, for kids/parents that are worried about students that get really wet, an extra change of clothes is always an option.
·         Sunscreen: while not all of the stations are outside, please advise parents that a majority of the time will be spent on the field and that either packing sunscreen with students to put on after lunch or applying it on in the a.m. is recommended.
·         Water: There will be a water/bathroom break scheduled in the rotations, and also a chance to get water on the field, but in the past we have had some students bring their own water bottles which helps with transition if you would like to include that as an option.

·         1st and 2nd will have popsicles delivered on the South Playground (facing Starbucks) at 3:00

TUESDAY:

Traditionally our 3rd-5th grade students enjoy lunch on the upper field between their Field Day activities on Tuesday. This year, we want to invite our Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students and families to come and join us for a picnic lunch on the lawn on Tuesday, May 19.

Put on your sunglasses and bring your favorite picnic blanket! Lunch options include:
  • Pack a picnic lunch for yourself and/or your children, or grab your favorite take-out lunch on your way to the school.
  • Sign up for a hotdog lunch through the school. Students will sign up for hot lunch with their class as normal, but parents need to pre-order their lunch by clicking hereTo ensure we have enough food prepared for students and guests, guest lunches will not be available unless pre-ordered.
