A FABULOUS END TO THE YEAR!

WOW! What a year....it is always so bitter sweet for us. We have loved having your children these past nine months! We have watched then grow into amazing, talented, young second graders! Thank you for every day you have loaned them to us! It takes a village....and we are so blessed to have been a part of yours!

Be sure to look through your child's MEMORY BOOK, We completed a A SAMPLE OF MY BEST HANDWRITING....we placed it next to their sample from August! WOW! The improvement is OUTSTANDING!

 Field Day...
It may have been short, but it was sweet!

At the beginning of the year the students filled out a TIME CAPSULE listing many of their favorites, reasons they were excited for first grade, and three goals they had for themselves! We rolled up the time capsules and hid them in the room.  Last week the students fill out their END OF THE YEAR REFLECTION...did their list of favorites change? What is their favorite memory? What three things will they miss the most about first grade? Did they accomplish their goals? On Monday Ms. Lorfing's class searched and found the TIME CAPSULES....each child read theirs and compared it to their END OF YEAR REFLECTION! SO FUN!

Enjoy the poem below...it says it all...thank you for standing behind us. We could not do it without YOU!
UNITY

I dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there,
The clay they used was a young child’s mind
And they fashioned it with care.
One was a teacher:
The tools she used were books and music and art;
One was a parent:
With a guiding hand and gentle loving heart.
And when at last their work was done,
They were proud of what they had wrought.
For the things they had worked into the child
Could never be sold or bought!
And each agreed she would have failed
If she had worked alone.
For behind the parent stood the school,
And behind the teacher stood the home!
