It all started off with field day on Monday! We were glad the rain held off and the kids were able to participate. They ran relay races, created pictures with noodles (the ones you use at the pool), participated in a ball toss, water race, the parachute and basketball! They had a great time and should have slept well Monday evening. Enjoy the pictures below.
Tuesday the children were able to sign yearbooks and had such a great time doing so! The sense of community in the classroom is so evident as they were sure not to miss out on a single signature.
During TNT on Wednesday we said goodbye to our classmates: Tyler Moore and Julia Butzirus. Each friend told Tyler and Julia what they would miss about them. After this took place we had cookies and drinks in the classroom. We have loved having Tyler and Julia at St. Paul's and they will be greatly missed!
Thursday was a blast! Thank you to all the parents who helped with the the skating field trip. WOW! What a workout. We were so proud of all of the kids! Even those who had never skated before, worked hard, never gave up and had a great time! There are lots of pics, here are a few:
Later in the day the students "cleaned" our tables with shaving cream as they put their artistic abilities to use. They also drew pictures of Miss Fate and Mrs. Waller which we will put into a book and keep in our classroom!
Fun Fact: **When we asked the children to raise your hand if you want to stay in first grade...surprisingly they all raised their hands;)
Thank you for all the support you have shown to our class this year! And big thank you for our classroom gift! We can definitely put it to use at U.S. Toy! We have truly LOVED learning about your children and watching them grow. You are all doing an amazing job as parents, they are such incredible spirits! It has been our privilege and we thank you for sharing each one of them with us! We are sad watching them leave, but happy as well, for we know they will soar in the second grade and make us proud. Have a wonderful, safe summer!
Love, MISS FATE & MRS. WALLER
