Howdy, First Grade Parents!

We hope you’ll join us for a rootin’, tootin’ good time at the O.K Corral (otherwise known as the North Wing MPR) on Thursday, December 15th at 9:00 in the morning.  Gather your kin folk and come find a seat as we serenade you with Christmas songs and tell the tale of Bubble Gum Bart and the other folks at Snowy Gulch!  It’s really important that you dress your child in the following outfit, so we can all look similar and such:

Scholastic Book Orders Going Home THIS Friday DUE: Friday, Dec. 2nd!!!

Books in BAG

Volunteers are the best!!!

We read a big book with Mrs. W called Bear Wants More.  After we read it the first time, we got to read it a second time and  indentified nouns, verbs and compound words.  For fun, we wrote a story from the Beary Beautiful Calendar Picture.
We have a new way to remember our short vowel sounds...Ask your child about "adams Apple "a" etc...  We know and can illustrate opposites!  It's super!  Mrs. G came and played an action verb game.  All the students are bringing back their books daily.  Thank you for the cooperation we get in that effort!
Our bear theme pages will be coming home next week.  If there are some pages not completed, as always they are welcome to finish those.
The seventh grade buddies invited us to see them in their Wax Museum.  They were American Revolution Famous Heros.   It was so impressive! You can tell they worked hard getting their facts about their famous person.

Please see Gingie Watt's blog regarding differentiation.  As a school and so as a class we tier our instruction so we are meeting students at the level they are on in learning.  In Math as well as Integrated Language we do this everyday .  Our pictures represent things many students are doing in Math.   They do not mean the entire class is working at these different levels.

Bear Planet was a great way for the first graders to convey what they have learned.  We had the Sun Bears and the Koala Bears come in early to apply makeup to their faces.
Thank you parents for all your help in pulling these outstanding costumes together.  You all are to be applauded!
We sure had fun!!!!

Elise's bday
We love you first grade:)
