With Mrs. Waller they continued to work on their spooky Halloween stories. They are becoming quite the authors! We look forward to sharing these stories with you at conferences.
With Miss Fate the students have been working in their Handwriting Without Tears workbooks reviewing uppercase letters and numbers. She also guided them in their phonics books.
On Thursday, the students were introduced to Mountain Language. Mr. Ronan guided the students as they completed a Mountain Language worksheet. Mountain Language allows the students to build on numerous language arts skills. The students love it and always have so much fun.
The Number Eating Alligator Song!
Using dominoes to practice >, <, =
Using water bottles with dice.....
BEAR Attributes!
Mrs. Waller guided the children as they color coded a map of North America. The map shows the locations of the four bears that live in North America: Alaskan brown bears, black bears, polar bears, and grizzly bears.
First color the key, then the location on the map!
Mr. Ronan had the children interview their teddy bears. This is always a favorite activity during the bear unit.
Discussing their bear interview......
The interview results......
In computer lab we visited www.ABCya.com and played the 100 # Grid, Raceway Number Values and Drop Sum to enhance our classroom curriculum. This allowed us to review the hundred chart, >,< & =, and our friends of ten! After these games were played they were allowed to visit the holiday section and choose from three different Halloween games.
In Hands-On Science the children went outside and secretly collected items according to a specific attribute. After math on Thursday they were ready for this! For example, if their attribute was smooth, they had to find items matching this attribute. Once inside, the students laid their collections out so their friends could guess their attribute! Another successful Hands-On Science!
