SOCIAL STUDIES
This was the last week of our Myself, Others, and a Caring Community theme. In order to provide closure on the unit, we focused on understanding the difference between needs in our lives (i.e. food, shelter, clothing, etc.) and wants in our lives (i.e. toys, vacations, electronics, etc.) We also talked about what happens when there are people in our community around us that don't have their basic needs met. Each student had to make a list of 10 things they could do to help their community. It was humbling to see the solutions that the students came up with!

TNT- (Try New Things)
This week in TNT was very special for the children. In honor of it being the week of the Pet Blessing, we had several volunteers from the Pets for Life program come with several dogs to speak about dog safety. The students listened very well to the presentation and learned about the best and safest ways to interact with dogs. They also got the chance to pet and interact with each of the dogs. It was awesome!!
